Day to day

First crop of tomatoes from the garden. Plenty more to come.

Fresh mulberries from a nearby tree – these are seriously good, and there are so many of them I made jam this week.

The older girls with newly braided hair.

Israel, planning to make many wonderful things with these discarded boards you see in the picture.

I hope your summer started off with just the right vibes! Enjoy the season.

    1. I was always jealous and in awe of ladies who were good at braiding, until recently a friend of mine showed me how she does it. She’s Ethiopian and her daughters, who have very kinky hair, always have super cool hair styles.

    1. Lin, there are perhaps 100,000 Jews of Ethiopian descent in Israel?.. Something like that. Our neighborhood has a large community, mostly people who had come in Operation Moses (1984) and Operation Solomon (1991).
