This has been a busy summer, but thankfully, not too busy to appreciate the good things in life. Above: a little moth we were lucky enough to be able to watch transform from a chrysalis before releasing it.
Our mango tree surprised us with pretty big fruit this year. The previous winter had been rainy, so I guess it needed more water.
Two pullets of this spring’s hatch. All in all, we have 5 young pullets and 8 cockerels (the latter will not be remaining with us – one roo is quite enough!)

Domestic Felicity 
Our last visit to Jerusalem, we ate some of the hugest, most delicious mangos ever!! We used to have them in Hawaii, but did not like the taste there. We loved the ones in Israel!! I had no idea what your trees would look like…I think the trees in Hawaii did not look the same either…guess there must be many varieties of mango?

I thought “roo” was short for kangaroo, not rooster – at least in Australia anyway š

Those quail eggs are so tiny! How many of those does it take to make one chicken sized omelet?

I would say three quail eggs are about the equivalent of one medium-sized chicken egg. But they look so cool topping salads or on little slices of baguette!
