Why “Domestic Felicity”?

‘Domestic felicity’ is an expression found in the books of Jane Austen, one of my all-time favorite authors. It was mostly used in an ironic context, but I love this expression and consider it to be an overall outlook on the whole of living and working at home and its surroundings.
